Preparation of the deceased for burial – Ghusl (Washing and shrouding)
When a Muslim dies, it is the responsibility of his family or other Muslims within the local community to wash him according to the Islamic rites of washing the deceased. Usually at least three to four people will be involved with the actual washing and shrouding.
There are several mosques in Derby that have specially built faculties to preform Ghusl, which is normally free if the Janazah prayer is being held at the particular mosque. We will be able to advise you of the facilities available and help you arrange everything for the preparation of the deceased for burial.
